Striving to Collaboration with Local Society

The manufacturing sites of the Semiconductor Company of Toshiba Corporation have been expanding activities for collaboration with regional communities and social contributions while working for environment preservation. In the following, we will be introducing what have been carried out by the Oita Operations and the overseas manufacturing companies, the Toshiba Semiconductor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and the Toshiba Electronics Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. The Oita Operations has promoted creative activities, which includes providing an experience-based environment course for children in the community. The local subsidiary in Thailand has engaged in such projects as collecting pull-tops of aluminum cans to donate them to the artificial limb association, reviving mangroves, and presenting environmental education to elementary school students. The company in Malaysia has arranged tree-planting ceremonies, provided enlightening education for elementary and junior high school students, and welcomed other companies and university students for the company tour. As shown in these examples, we have been promoting a wide variety of activities.
